Voter Service: Gearing Up for the Midterms!
by Courtenay Carr Heuer voterservice@lwvclackamas.org
The midterm elections are coming, and Voter Service has a full slate of activities planned to register voters, educate the community on candidates, and break down ballot measures. Here's a sneak peek at what's brewing, and how YOU can get involved.
What We're Planning
National Voter Registration Day — September 15
-
Voter registration tabling - more details to come.
-
Have a great location idea? Let us know!
Candidate Education
-
Exploring two formats: short videos answering 3-4 key questions for our website, OR a live online forum open to members and the public.
-
Looking into possible partnerships with other organizations.
Summer & Fall Voter Registration Tabling
-
Voter registration tabling in August, September and October.
-
Youth members, new members, and all members welcome to help table - look for a schedule to join us!
-
Naturalization ceremonies in Portland remain a great opportunity to welcome new citizen voters.
Ballot Measure Education
-
Willamette View has invited us back this fall to talk about ballot measures.
-
We're available to present at other locations too! Know a group that would benefit from a nonpartisan ballot measure talk? Send them our way.
Voter Guide Distribution
-
We will once again be distributing the updated Voter Guides to locations throughout the County this Fall before the election - libraries, etc. We will need volunteers. We Need You!
None of this happens without volunteers! I'm looking for 2-3 people to join me in planning all of these events — helping choose locations, coordinate logistics, and make sure we reach as many voters as possible.
Interested? Want to help? Have ideas or connections that could help? Reach out to me - I'd love your support, input and your energy! Contact me at voterservice@lwvclackamas.org.Let's make this a great season for voter engagement in Clackamas County!
